Introduction:
What makes a good portrait?
What challenges do you face when shooting someone’s portrait?
What are the skills that help you improve your portrait photography?
These are some of the questions we cover during this 3-hour workshop. We start at the basics with exposure, focus, and composition, but quickly move into discussing the more specific elements that deal with portraiture such as what lens to use, how to utilize existing light, how to set mood and tone, and how to communicate with your subject to get the right posing and body language.
To get the most out of this workshop it is highly recommended to start with the Elemental Photography Workshop as this first workshop will help you to get a good grasp of the basics.
The Portrait Workshop is a hands-on session that allows for many hours of actual practice where the instructor demonstrates several skills with images showing up on the computer screen in real time, after which the participants are given assignments to execute during the workshop.
